Has anyone tried it yet? Is it worth buying, or is it a bunch of frilly useless additions?

Haven't tried it, but it's been reviewed extensively in the mags I read as being a worthwhile if not revolutionary upgrade.

Dreamweaver gets a nice CSS upgrade, which is good, I find the current DW way of dealing with CSS incredibly slow!! I'm 10x faster coding it by hand!! (creating and assigning classes that is, those menus are @#%$!)

Flash I don't know that much about to begin with, so I'm not sure how much of the Professional mad database application stuff is new.

Really what's being said is that no one prog is getting a major overhaul, but the integration has been improved. That's a good thing right?? Seems to be the way of this generation of software though, with Adobe doing the same thing.

I've got it sitting here next to my computer all set to install, but I honestly don't think I'll install it anytime soon. Basically because I'm not going to need it....

A buddy of mine tried it, liked it, but said that if he had to buy it that he'd pass. Seems to be decent but not sure if it's worth the money.

Yeah it's probably true. I just started a web design company recently though, and we're trying to get our software collection at least more or less above board you know? So starting from scratch, we'll be buying Studio.

But if we already owned a legal commercial copy of Studio MX, 2004 probably wouldn't be on the list of stuff to buy.

I have used Dreamweaver MX in the past, and I recently used the 30 day trial of MX 2004 at work.

The new intereface is much nicer, and flows better. The new CSS stuff is very nice...

Being that I have not gotten around to buying this yet, I don't think I will. I have Studio MX, and I don't do a whole lot of web programming. I might try to get my hands on the free trial though and take a look, but that is about it.

Leif: The 'new interface' you mention, is it a step up from the original MX, or have you only used the older versions, 4 and previous? Cause yeah, you're definately right about the MX-style interface being a huge step forward from the previous versions, I hate those multi-window things...

I used both the older MX and some versions 4 and previous (as well as HomeSite).

The new look is some tweaks... but I think they make things cleaner... and a bit more easy on the mouse too...

Cool... I'll hopefully be buying that mid December, if my clients actually pay up before Christmas time. I don't really like how Christmas holidays sit in the middle of my uni holidays, cause that's when I am able to get the most work done, but that's when the clients are least likely to do anything with me!
